About Us
In 1980 Ray Youndt started a plumbing and air conditioning subcontracting service for Sears. Vincent Youndt, current President of Vertex Mechanical Inc., worked alongside his father, Ray, since he was 11 years old. After graduating high school in 1989, Vincent and his father formed a partnership, Ray Youndt and Son. In February of 2002, Vertex Mechanical, Inc., was created and Vincent was named the president of the company.
Vincent and his father Ray began installing geothermal heat pumps in 1985. We proudly serve customers throughout Lancaster County, PA.
It is our philosophy to treat every customer we serve the same way we expect to be treated. The same applies to every employee working for Vertex. Vertex is certified by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), a non-profit, member-driven organization established in 1987 to advance ground source heat pump (GSHP) technology on local, state, national and international levels. Headquartered on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, IGSHPA utilizes state-of-the-art facilities for conducting GSHP system installation training and geothermal research. With its access to the most current advancements in the geothermal industry, IGSHPA is the ideal bridge between the latest technology and the people who benefit from these developments.
National Comfort Institute (NCI)-Certified Technicians

Radiant Professionals Alliance Award – 2012
This organization is dedicated to the advancement of radiant heating, as a comfortable, efficient, and healthy heating method. Each year, system showcase winners are selected based on presentation, technical merit, and presentation. Vertex Mechanical was a 2012 winner for a commercial installation for East Drumore Township.
ASHRAE Member – American Society Of Heating, Refrigerating, And Air-Conditioning Engineers Member
